Amazing experience, great service and very knowledgeable.

I signed up for a putter fitting with True Spec, given how important putting is to your game. The putter is used on practically every hole and, clearly, the easiest way to lower your scores are through more efficient putting. However, it seems that too few golfers get fitted for the most used club in the bag. Anyway... I met Gus and we spent quite some time together evaluating my stroke. Through trial and error, he had me test quite a few different types and styles of putters -- blades, mallets, zero torque putters, etc. I also shared my thoughts, provided some input and asked him about things I liked or didn't like in a putter. Gus listened and explained why certain things would work and others would not because of my stroke -- (the arc, the speed, the tempo, etc. of my swing). Gus was very thorough, very analytical and quite impressive with his knowledge and command of how to fit someone for the right putter. After every miss, and even after most putts that I made, he explained exactly what I did right, what I did wrong and what I needed to do for more consistency and to improve. He also showed me the statistics on the SAM Puttlab and explained what the readings meant, which was very helpful and informative. The one piece of advice he shared, which was worth the cost of the fitting, and clearly helped my putting was to "keep my head down" and not look up too soon. Gus is very observant and clearly has a desire to help others improve by highlighting even the smallest detail. Gus was fabulous to work with and made the time together very enjoyable. He's clearly passionate about his work and enjoys the challenge of helping identify the best putter for each person's stroke, provided the individual is open to critique and criticism. If you're serious about your game, want to improve and lower your score, go get fitted. Kudos to Gus!!!
