Named the #4 golf course in the state by Golfweek, the course was designed by the legendary Donald Ross in 1927, and meticulously restored by Kyle Franz in 2017. My fitting session at True Spec Golf with Kevin O’Connell was amazing. I was having a horrible time with my swing but Kevin was so patient and was able to fit me with a driver and irons that fit my swing perfectly. Thank you Kevin for all your help today.

I'm a high handicap golfer who came into this fitting not knowing what to expect, and Kevin made the entire experience fantastic from start to finish. As someone newer to the game, I was a little intimidated walking in, but Kevin immediately put me at ease. No condescension, no pressure — just genuine interest in helping me find the right equipment for where my game actually is. What impressed me most was Kevin's honesty. He could have easily pushed me into a new driver, but instead he recommended I keep my current one and simply have the shaft trimmed and regripped. That kind of integrity is rare, and it tells you everything you need to know about the culture at True Spec. The facility itself is outstanding. Hitting into an actual range rather than a screen makes a real difference — you see the full ball flight, the shot shape, everything. It's a completely different experience than a simulator fitting and worth every bit of the drive to Pine Needles. I left with data I actually understand, clubs I'm confident in, and zero buyer's remorse. If you're on the fence about getting fitted — regardless of your handicap — just go. Ask for Kevin.
