6 Months ago I came in for an iron fitting with Mark Roybal. Unfortunately, I was hitting the ball terribly that day, and despite his best efforts, we did not settle on new clubs. Instead, he recommended some lessons and to come back in a few months. Having worked hard on my swing, I went back in today. Mark was unavailable, so I was fit by Alex Carbone instead. Today, I was hitting the ball so well, and the fitting could not have gone better. We worked through 5 or 6 different clubheads, selected 2, and then worked through several shafts. The end result was a new set of irons that gained ~10 yards over my current clubs and added much needed height and descent angle. We then moved on to hybrids. Having put in quite a few swings at this point, I was no longer at the top of my game. We worked through a few heads, lofts, and shafts and found a combination that I was hitting solidly, but I was struggling to hit straight. Rather than push me to buy that, Alex suggested I play the new irons for a bit, get comfortable with my distances, and then come back for a hybrid/wood fitting. This is one of the things I love about True Spec. They are not just trying to sell as many clubs as possible, they really want to work with you to get the right clubs. Overall, a fantastic experience, and I cannot recommend Alex and Mark more.
